Unlike contract teachers, our pay is NOT PRO-RATED over a 12 month period. LTOs are not paid for any days other than instructional or PD days. When there are holidays, an LTO will not be paid for those days; ie 2 week period which includes Thanksgiving Monday, there will only be 9 days pay on your pay stub, not 10. Occasional Teachers Pay Dates.. LTO's pay you just for the school year whereas contract teachers (permanent) get paid through the summer (so 10 months as opposed to 12). So if you break it down to pay per day between an LTO and contract teacher on the same spot on the grid the LTO is higher per day but they only get paid for 10 months, over the whole year it's the same.
